The Veritable TechNinja
|||||Pitchshifter - Everything Sucks (Again)||]|
I'm seriously considering pre-mixing two 60-minute CDs for the guest night, taking advantage of all technology set before me. It allows for techniques that you just can't reproduce with nothing but two decks and a mixer. Beatmatched overdubs, for instance. Of course, to do this, I need to ask for requests right now. To give you an idea of the night's feel, here's some of the tracks I've got slated:
Hate Dept. - Release It (Empirion mix)
Galan Pixs - Use the Flashlight
Negrosex - Tekno La Droga
Stromkern - Im Traum (Analog mix)
Non-Agression Pact - Data Rape
KLOQ - What You Are
Oomph! - Fieber (And One mix)
Birmingham 6 - Accept Reality (Razed in Black mix)
Aeric - Toute Facon (Miss Kittin & The Hacker Showgirls RMX)
And for the second set, at least the first part of it...
Das Ich - He Mensch
Einsturzende Neubauten - Yu-gung
Nitzer Ebb - Murderous (Razormaid! mix)
Acid Horse - No Name, No Slogan
If I'm correct in assuming this is gonna be mostly, as you put it, "four on the floor 'oontz'" Here are a few suggestions from the peanut gallery:
1 Leatherstrip - fit for flogging
2 Wumpscut - embryodead
3 Haujobb - demon
4 DeLien - take II
5 E-Craft - hidden danger
6 Front 242 - crapage
otherwise, here are some I'd love to hear:
1 Hanzel Und Gretyl - transplutonian annihilation (new MP3, find it here: http://www.xmtp.net/hug/
2 16 Volt - two wires thin
3 Ohgr - pore
4 SMP - the metro
5 Doll Factory - nettle
6 Diatribe - cold sweat
Of course, I only recognized (read: actually heard) 4 of the groups you listed: Hate Dept, Galan Pixs, Einsturzende Neubauten, and Birmingham 6. If you need any of these tracks I have 'em if you wanna burn from my discs. Hope that helps some.
I might play Front 242's Break Me, it's possible I'll play HuG's Gemini 31, maybe Haujobb's Eye Over You. Dunno, it's all up in the air right now. Yeah, some of it is 4/4 00ntz, but it's not an experimental night. I'm still working on scoring one, but it'd probably have to be at a different club like Amsterdam or the Groove Room.
I guess, now that I look at it most of my suggestions are a little on guitar-y side. Oh well, I can still hope for you to play them stuffs.
So is some of the stuff I'll be playing.
btw, I meant to ask you this before - my copy of Haujobb's Polarity, when it reaches a certain point in the third verse of "demon" everything cuts out for what seems like an uneven interval. Is this how it is supposed to be or is my copy just fucked up?

Re: ain't nothin' wrong if ya wanna do da butt all night long!
I kinda like it actually, it makes for a very unnerving distraction. But I just might decide to contact Metro anyway, thanks Cath!
