Lingerie scares me

Finally, complete moron fuckups who cause traffic jams are reprimanded. Of course, they don't have to pay a dime, they were injured by fucking walking on a green light.

uNF. Found the figures, surprisingly enough on yahoo shopping. The company I emailed yesterday finally replied (in a kind of dry, impersonal way that doesn't make me want to give them any money) that they have the whole line in stock. I hit the site again, but when I put one of the items in my cart, I noticed they were a yahoo vendor. Since yahoo lets shoppers rate their sites' service, I decided to check them out to make sure I wasn't going to get jacked. Lo and behold, there's four vendors offering both figures, and the place I emailed was the most expensive. This brought up the isue of comic shop politics in my mind, that I'm potentially dicking my local shops out of business (and myself out of shipping costs) if I don't at least check one more time. Well, My local shop most likely to have them is supposed to be open at 9, but they didn't bother to answer their phone, all the way past 10:30. Well, not to be fickle, but you guys just lost more of my money. Completed the order from the site, should have them by Monday. You know, if the company I had emailed in the first place would have just told me what was up with ArtFX and why nobody else had them, I would have bought from them. Maybe they're protecting some kind of secret? You know, like maybe this stuff was illegally imported?
I miss the old days. It used to be just the big, old comic shop with the creepy single guy and his mom running it, and Reuben's. Formally known as Music Express, because the place started out as Reuben selling a bunch of Mexican music. In it's final state, it was a bastion of gaming happiness. Tables set up for CCGs (but no hopeless 40k geeks or creepy hentai section), TVs and consoles set up to pre-play games, refreshment, music, and a decent selection of comics. Good stuff, the kind that kept the crowd cool. Not too comic-y (40-something lechers in pit-stained wifebeaters ogling $10000 issues of Superman), not too RPG-y (snort-laughing, pizza-faced 40k/book-n-dice/LARP dorks), not too big business-y (clueless mall staff, no underground flavor, bullshit prices), not too private club-y (a dozen or so regulars who never leave, and everyone else is dogshit). It didn't matter if you were in to CCGs, console games, comics, anime, all, none, or even the tiny corner of Mexican music that brought in the occasional bewildered latino who stared blankly at the rest of the store in wonder. It was just a cool place. There's nothing like that around here. There's gamestation, which has a damn good selection, but never seems to know what I'm talking about. There's Comic Rox, which is kind of dingy and stuck in the past, not exactly an inviting place to hang out in. There's Awesome Comix, which is pretty sparse and seems to cater too willingly to Eva model builders, but is trying really hard not to suck... batwinged keeps telling me to go to Comix Oasis or whatever it's called now, but the last time I was there they had nothing, and treated me like I raped their kids. This could be because I went in looking for Invader Zim, because no one told me it was a cartoon and not a comic, or it could be because they're cocksmokers.
I miss Ann Arbor so much. They've got Wizzywig. They've got Vault of Midnight. They've got The Underworld. They, well... Used to have Dave's Comics, but what ever happened to them? VoM has everything, know about what they don't have, and aren't elitist bastards. Underworld is just a fully functional geek haven, even if they do cater to tabletop dorks. I regularly feel light-headed and possibly slightly aroused upon entering Wizzywig. But do they have that kind of place here? No. Hell, Lansing has an independent, dedicated console game store that has a turbografx 16 and a virtual boy. We get a place that does most of their business with the hentai section and the DDR machine. Fuck, for that matter, we don't even have a decent arcade.

More bang for you U.S buck!

Windsor has some pretty swank comic/anime shops out by the University (on university). I wish I could remember the name but its accessible from the bridge. We visited one last weekend because I wanted some ping pong club vids (which they didn't have). It was a small store that had lots of cool stuff as well as lots of cheesy stuff. M mentioned to me later that they even had a miscellaneous car part for sale. *laughs*

Re: More bang for you U.S buck!

we found the ping pong club dvds at a mall store, actually... try hitting a suncoast or whatever else they have in malls these days. yeah, you're going to be giving a megacorp $$$, but there isn't that many other options, other than hitting a2, like kev is saying.

Not to mention poor restocking, which leaves you with episodes 3, 8, and 10, the rest "can be ordered and will arrive some time in the indeterminate future".

The only people I know of that would have Ping Pong Club is Wizzywig, they even rent it. Don't know about crossing the border for games, though.

Music Express is still pretty cool, they've expanded and they're carrying more games and vhs tapes, I picked up a couple cool anime vids down there for like $6 all together, spiffin.
