I just walked a user in Dallas through identifying what a network cable is, what expansion slots look like, identifying the one NIC that's failing out of three installed in the server, pulling it's cable, patching a new cable from the switch to the affected NIC, all with the server running during business hours. Ow.

Personally, I'm not sure whether to be amused or disgusted when people exhibit ignorance on that scale.
