BEST. WEEKEND. EVER.
Glad to hear it. Our car needs the radiator fixed. At least others are doing well.
Did Scott ever do the test I suggested? If so, what were the results, and if not, I'm still planning on coming up for the obscure gaming day next Sunday, I'll look at it then.
Yeah, he said he did the engine revving thing you told him about and coolant literally shoots out of this part of the radiator when it gets really hot. As long as the car doesn't overheat, it just drips coolant really slowly.
He took it in to Penske this morning before work and the told him that the radiotor should be replaced or within weeks the gaskets could blow as well.
This has come at a really bad time, as I'm making a whole bunch of diddly at this coffeeshoppe downtown now (but it's slightly more diddly than at the church) and just ignoring bill due dates doesn't get them paid any faster (still owe Amerifuck ninety dollars, my long-distance bill is very leniant and was due Friday, Detriot Edison, Earthlink, my charge cards, Scott's car payment....).
I'm thinking we can get around the estimated $400+ to get the radiator replaced if we could get a cheap-ass radiator and find some car person we may know through channels who would do it for beer.
Come over Sunday. we'll show you where the leak is at and you may know how to fix it or whatever without making me have to sell cunt on Santa Monica to pay for it. If there's some kind of patch job we could do to prolong the fucker, Scott's willing to give up the mixing board to you.
Yeah, there's this stuff that's basically high-temp bubblegum that you can jam in there to stop up the leak, it's a stopgap solution but it's better than $200 for a new radiator.
I've heard of that, but couldn't think of what it was actually called (doesn't look like you have a product or brand name either, but at least I know I'm not smoking crack).
About how long do you think the radiator would last if we tried this stuff to plug the hole until we could afford a new radiator? Two weeks? a month or so?
It's a really tiny hole, and other than that, it looks like everything else is fine (or at least as fine as this car usually is).
The cost has got to be well under fifty dollars for this stuff, I can't imagine it being more than that.
By the way, I take it the date went swimmily....
Well, hit a wrenchmonkey kind of store, and ask. I'm pretty sure it'll be like $10. Should last about a month, but when it pops you can just put another lump of gunk on the hole. And the date? Clockwork. I'm falling for that girl...
I'll tell Scott about that stuff you're talking about.
Glad everything went well. You deserve to be happy.
see you Sunday (if you want, invite others. by the way, it's a Bring-Your-Own-Folding-Chair night).
hon, you better fill me in on things!
