That was exactly what we both needed. I didn't know it at first, but yesterday was one of the best days in a long time. At dinner with Lex, P paged me. I had been stuck thinking about her the whole day, trying to make sense of it all. I called her immediately (thanks for the cellphone, Lex!), we made plans to get together last night. We finished dinner, and on a whim hit Penny Pincher's to buy that pink sequinned gas mask P and I saw there a while ago. Sadly, it had sold just last week. Not to be discouraged, I dropped off Lex, sprinted to and through Meijer, getting the supplies I needed to make P breakfast for this weekend, stashed them at my place, headed out.
I got there early enough to have a shot at picking her up from class, but I couldn't remember the building she was in. I made a guess and asked a passer-by where it was, they didn't know. Good thing, it was the wrong building anyway. I headed to her dorm, waited outside for her. She came shortly, we spent a while just being close, recovering. It felt perfect, it was exactly what we both needed. Eventually, we hit the Blockbuster for a movie, ended up with Go! I had seen the last half, so it didn't make any sense then. Now that it does, it's just twice as messed up. One way or the other, I feel great today (outside of a sore neck), which will help with all the domestication I've got in store tonight. Must get a new carton of smokes, an oil change (picking up a new drain plug first so the greasemonkies can replace the one I stripped trying to teach P hot to change oil), stop at Meijer for a roll of quarters, do laundry, dishes, and clean up the house. You know, I don't mind one bit, as long as this feeling lasts.
