I think I went post-scene when I realized that people who constantly discriminate based solely on the majority's fashion sense, then can't back it up, sound like clods. There's lots of people out there who share your point of view, your sense of humor and your itelligence, but just don't like getting made fun of in the mall. True, the majority still doesn't think the same way, but berating them just proves you're in the same intellectual clearance bin together. You want to cut someone down, fine, do it for not thinking before they act. If you base your faith in strangers on their clothes, you're just as locked in to magazine culture as they are, you just pay more for your subscription.

In a slightly related note, I'm thinking of renting out a club to have a party for my new group at work, and for anyone else who'd like to come and listen to me flail randomly about the field of music and have a few drinks with some serious hardcore geeks. Does anyone know what this kind of thing would cost, and which place I might try first?

Thirdly, the lymph node that's directly forward of my earlobe going towards my right eye is seriously swollen, as is the one right under my jaw joint (?). It started when I took some cold eradicator X-9000 pills (Meijer brand severe cold formula) to get rid of my sinus and chest congestion and phlegmy gough. It's going back down now, but it's still very stiff and tender. Anyone know what I might have, and if there's any shortcut to fixing it? I talked to N yesterday who said she just got over "walking pneumonia", which might be what I've got, considering I feel pretty much OK otherwise, but she said it wasn't contagious. Do I need to go to a doctor for this if the swelling doesn't go down?

Swollen lymph nodes are a syptom of a viral infection. It happens because your immune system has gone into kick ass mode. You should only really have to worry is the swelling stays for a protracted length of time. Since you feel better and the swelling has begun to decrease MY opinion would be that you kicked that little virus' ass. Go you.
I have no idea what renting a place would cost but i would guess in the range of 200 all depending on if you need it catered/dj'd/other such shit.
Also, is anything cool going on this summer up in da' hood? I am in need of conversation with people who actully know what BIOS stands for. They are in short supply here. Also, everyone here is a feather wieght and I could use some serious drinking and gaming.
Keep it 133T.

Re: Hmmm

Yeah, they're going down a bit now, but I've never seen this particular one swell like that, so it got me a little worried.
As for this summer, nothing much is really going to happen, but you're welcome to come up any time if you want.
