Bottle of Cook's Champagne (I've been indoctrinated in the liquor-as-gifts club in my family for some reason)
\mn 3Com 8-port Gigabit switch nm/
Fancypants shirt and nice pants, both acceptable style
Disturbing dollar-store velvet pillow that says "Love" on it, meant for hanging on my door knocker
So I'm materialistic. Meh. I gave as good as I received, three things they asked for, one random thing (but at least I only went to the dollar store for the wrapping paper). Didn't get my dad as drunk as I had imagined, he still slapped everyone around at Hearts. I did, however, 0wn dinner. Smoked salmon rolls with sundried tomato/olive cream cheese, egg drop soup, spinach fettuccine with crimini/shallot alfredo sauce, ham, asparagus, and P's fudge cherry smackdown cake, served with Port. Verrah proud of the bakingbot.
My 14-year-old server is now on a 4 gigabit full duplex load balancing team. It's literally 20x faster than any other device on my network, and I only have two clients. Switch has pretty blue LEDs to indicate Gbit link. It's rather festive.
And now, City Club.
