Okay, I'm done with the company that hosts muricated.net. Over the past year they've become uncooperative, bossy jerks who have done nothing but complicate and obfuscate their services thus preventing me from using what I paid for. I need a new webhost. Here's my basic requirements:

1. 1GB or more of webspace
2. 5GB or more transfer/mo
3. Full-featured mailserver (IMAP over SSL, decent webmail package, 20MB+ per user, tight spamproofing)
4. FTP and/or WebDAV access that's understandable (IE I can connect to muricated.net:21 and I'm in my wwwroot)
5. Comprehensive user and filesystem rights management
6. Under $125/yr

Anyone know of anything like that?

Re: www.canaca.ca

I take it that's your hosting company? In which case, do you know what webmail/IMAP/anti-spam packages they use? They've got this nondescript "basic/advanced/extreme spam filtering" stuff on their feature list instead of actually saying "DNSBL/SpamAssassin/SpamBayes".

While we're at it, how has your experience been so far? Response time to support requests, uptime, spam not filtered/legitimate mail never hitting your account, ease of use (for us idiot Windoze users, I know you're a lot more familliar with the intricacies of a *NIX shared webserver's filesystem)?

Re: www.canaca.ca

yes that my company been really happy with them.

Squirrel Mail for web mail
the server is running fedora
i dont rember the spam/IMAP of the top of my head
never had to put in a support request yet they did let me know they were migrating my server and stated that they did a full back up first.
as far as ease of use they use the ensim control Panel i could prolly teach a retarded monkey to use it.

Guh, DSET. Not looking forward to coming up there tomorrow to cover for E.

Anyway, I'm torn between Canaca and 3SHost at the moment, both look like they have everything I want.
