Ways I've helped to improve my company's IT environment:

Installed UTM firewall/proxy
Removed carpet from floor of server room, installed antistatic tile
Installed real, centralized UPS, tied all devices to it
Untangled horrible mess of cabling behind rack
Installed locking server cabinet, migrated servers in to it
Tied server room AC to backup generator so servers don't cook themselves during a power outage
Installed MOM/SMS/WSUS
Decommissioned overpriced, horrible ISP
Installed ISP with quadruple the throughput for the same price
Set up proper SMTP, installed antispam appliance
Stabilized mailserver
Decommissioned analog PBX
Installed Cisco switching and routing
Installed Cisco Unified Communications
Installed cable management
Labeled patch panel
Installed new wireless AP, re-purposed old AP for public wifi
Installed several new security cameras
Corrected issue with security camera playback, configured network playback client
Cleaned up Active Directory, put objects in logical containers
Deployed Office 2007
Deployed centrally-managed antivirus
Decommissioned 90% of garage-ware PCs, renewed to top-quality desktops and laptops
Reduced instances of multiple PCs per user
Deployed new flight operations application
Renewed all Blackberry devices to Curve or better
Consolidated and trimmed down cel inventory
Installed direct-wired wall plates at all desks
Deployed cost-efficient network printers
Held multiple training classes
Deployed VPN client
Installed three TVs with public information display capability
Installed four new access controlled doors
Corrected issues from security audit
Upgraded all displays to LCD
Authored IT Use policy for handbook
And I'm sure a bunch more stuff too
All while doing _all_ of the end-user support, all the maintenance, and all the auditing and management. Oh, and while getting divorced, quitting smoking, and dieting. All in a year and a half.
I deserve a raise goddamnit.
