The Veritable TechNinja

Just got back from my first ride on my new bike, a Bianchi Camaleonete II. Oof, hills are hard. I sought long and hard for the right bike, and now that I've ridden it I think I made the right choice. Forgiving but rigid frame, street tires just wide and cut up enough to make the occasional lawn job detour, good components without being snobby, and forgiving to the newbie without being a dead-end leisure bike should I eventually not suck at this. Yay! By the way bike folks, just how am I supposed to secure my lock to my bike while I'm riding it so that it doesn't end up rubbing my wheels, or worse off sticking in my pedals?

Looks like you've got the right idea as far as where to put the lock. The other option is under the seat, but that would depend on how high up the seat is and how long the lock is.

Seat bag, backpack, rack/trunk bag, etc.

Personally, I don't carry a lock, nor do most people I know. We just bring our bikes into places, prop them up in front of windows, etc.

You should also worry about the lock hitting the frame, your legs, etc.

Yup, gonna go the backpack route. Thanks, there's so much to consider that it slipped my mind. Going for another ride tonight, I'll pick up a backpack while I'm out. The gym doesn't allow bikes inside, but they have those hoop things for locks. The lock was slightly in the way, but with the cable I managed to keep it clear.

By sheer coincidence, I was just cast in a staged reading that's being directed by Paul Bianchi.
